About the Citizen Map Project

By harnessing the data and knowledge that surrounds us we can create an unprecedented understanding of how
Glasgow works.

Using this insight, we can make smarter choices, innovate, and improve quality of life for everyone. By doing this we can create new opportunities, and empower everyone to collaborate in the decisions that will define the future of our city.

The aim of the HKA community citizen mapping project is to work with local communities to capture and record valuable data in the community council area. Maps offer a great visual opportunity to access services in the local area – capturing local knowledge and sharing this with other members of the community for all to benefit.

At present, we are building & testing our citizen mapping tool. Currently, we have released a test version of the map tool displaying information about local groups, sports clubs and more.

Features to be added to the HKA Mapping Platform included:

  • Search the Data
  • Public Transport Options
  • Traffic Data
  • Compare Data between different data sources
  • Import/Export Data from external source, for example from data.glasgow.gov.uk and maps.glasgow.gov.uk
