Thankyou!
In a few weeks, HKA will have been formed for 6 months. Can I firstly thank the members of the public who have come to all our local meeting. If you would like to come to our next meeting, check out the online diary.
In this time, we have been gathering information on a number of improvements members of the public would like to see happen in the High Knightswood & Anniesland Community Council area. The Community Council will create a new action plan for the area and share with local organisations – We hope to publish in early 2016.
Noticeboards
The Community Council is in the process of having 2 Noticeboards built, one at the shops on Knightswood Road, the other outside the library at Anniesland Cross.
Community Planting Event
Back in October, with the help of Councilor Judith Fisher, HKA planted bulbs at Temple Gardens in Anniesland, We will keep you posted on the progress of the new flowers – we are hoping to plant more in the area soon.
On the digital front….
Our aim to become the best-connected community council continues….
Website
Our website has now reached over 500+ weekly unique views and growing every day.. again thank you for your support.
We are aiming to keep the website up to date as much as possible with local news and stories, if you have any, please let us know. We are also looking for information on the history of Anniesland & Knightswood, past and present photographs are required, so if you have any, please send them in.
Digital Apps
We are also now in the process of building the digital apps we announced at the beginning way back in June. The first App to go live is the Community Citizen Map.
Inspire from Open Glasgow, The Citizen Map will collect and display community data in your local area. You will be able to search and find information, for example, on local youth groups to churches giving information on opening times, website links & directions.
Version 2 will be released during this week. This will be the platform which we will use to further improve local data with the ability to link to external data sources, for example, Open Data Glasgow – so we can display local planning applications on the Map
To gather data, we will be contacting local groups to visit them to place markers on an actual map which will tour the area.. plans for this are still evolving.. more very soon.
However, If you would like to submit data now to this project, please email hello@hka.scot – we will have a web page soon where you can enter data.
We have a lot to look forward to over the next 6 months, please come and visit us at the next meeting in the new year.
