Digital Update

We’re thrilled to be undergoing a digital transformation! Our new website is being built from the ground up to better serve our community and expand our reach. 

While we’re busy behind the scenes, we wanted to give you a sneak peek of what’s to come and invite you to be a part of this exciting journey.

The High Knightswood and Anniesland Community Council (HKACC) is all about making our neighbourhood the best it can be. We’re a diverse and dedicated group of local residents, just like you, who are passionate about making a difference. 

We’re here to represent your interests, support local businesses and organizations, and create a vibrant future for everyone in High Knightswood and Anniesland.

Planning & Development

We review planning applications, provide feedback on proposed developments, and advocate for projects that benefit our community.

Local Services

We monitor the quality of local services, such as roads, parks, and public transport, and work with the council to address any concerns.

Community Safety

We work with Police Scotland and Community Safety Glasgow on issues such as crime, anti-social behaviour & traffic safety.

Funding

We play a key role in deciding how local funds are spent, ensuring resources are used wisely to benefit our community.

Community Engagement

A platform for community discussion and debate on local issues, inc. public meetings, online forums, and surveys to gather residents' views.

Licensing

We participate in licensing consultations for pubs, clubs, and other licensed premises, ensuring that residents' views are considered.

Community Initiatives

We encourage and support local initiatives that benefit our community, such as community clean-ups, social events, and projects to support vulnerable groups.

Wider Governance

We actively participate in local and national governance systems, contributing to service design, working with funding bodies, and holding elected officials accountable.

Community Councils promote the well-being of their communities. They bring local people together to help make things happen, and many Community Councils protect and promote the identity of their community. They advise, petition, influence and advocate numerous causes and cases of concern on behalf of local communities.

Community Councils are the strongest means of becoming involved with your local area. It will give you a good understand of the workings of local government and what is going on locally and nationally.
